Everyone says “stand out,” but no one explains how.

From a recruiter’s perspective:

  • What actually makes a candidate worth shortlisting?
  • Do grades matter that much?
  • Are projects and extracurriculars taken seriously?

If anyone here has worked in hiring or spoken to recruiters directly, would be great to hear your insight.

Starting to think my CV might be the problem.

Right now it’s:

  • 1 page
  • Education + a few projects
  • No real work experience yet

I’m not sure if I should:

  • Make it more detailed
  • Add more personal projects
  • Or just completely redesign it

If anyone’s willing to give honest feedback or share what worked for them, I’d appreciate it.

Every listing says “entry-level” but still asks for 1–2 years of experience.

I’ve done coursework and a couple of small projects, but nothing “official.” It feels like I’m stuck in that loop where I can’t get experience because I don’t have any.

What actually worked for you guys?
Should I focus more on projects, networking, or just keep applying?
